Manoj Bajpayee reacts to comparisons with Irrfan Khan: Industry was confused what to do with us
Manoj Bajpayee was asked about his constant comparisons with the late actor Irrfan Khan. The actor revealed whether he felt insecure about the Piku star.

Manoj Bajpayee is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Joram. The movie is directed by Devashish Makhija and will debut in theatres on December 8. In a recent interview, the actor was asked about his constant comparisons with the late actor Irrfan Khan. Manoj revealed whether he felt insecure or jealous of the Piku star.
Manoj Bajpayee on his similarities with Irrfan Khan
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Manoj was asked about his feelings when he is compared to other actors in the industry. To which The Family Man star replied, “Mere sath do bahot hi kamaal ke actors kaam kar rahe the, (two amazing actors were working with me) late Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon. You will be surprised to know that we have always voiced our admiration to each other and how much we were learning from each other. Also, we were going through the same thing. it’s not about acceptance, it’s about the industry being completely confused as to what to do with us.“
The actor said the filmmakers weren’t making the films they could fit in so they tried to typecast us in grey characters. However, it never worked with him or Irrfan. Manoj added, “We went through it because we were looking for choices. We were looking for things that we always wanted to do and not do something where you are repenting all the time you are on the shoot.“
Manoj Bajpayee on insecurity from other actors
Manoj emphasised that he has never felt insecure because of other actors as he is content with the work he does and his position in the industry. He further said he is very grateful for every role he has played in movies. Also, he has the responsibility to take a film to the audience in the best way possible. During this, he does not get the time to think about anything else.

On the work front, Manoj Bajpayee will be seen in Joram. The film is a survival thriller drama and also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Rajshri Deshpande, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Smita Tambe in lead roles. Joram has been produced by Shariq Patel, Ashima Avasthi Chaudhuri, Anupama Bose, and Devashish Makhija under the banner Zee Studios and MakhijaFilm.
