Manoj Bajpayee to contest 2024 Lok Sabha elections? Joram actor reveals

Manoj Bajpayee is gearing up for the release of his upcoming web series Killer Soup. Ahead of the release of the series, certain media reports claimed that the actor will contest the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. The actor took to his social media account to issue a clarification dismissing all rumours. 

Manoj Bajpayee dismisses rumours about election contesting 

On January 4, Manoj Bajpayee took to his social media account to reshare a post that stated that he would contest the elections. The actor rubbished all rumours by replying to the Tweet in a witty manner. The tweet in question claimed, "Bihar Buzz - Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee is likely to contest Lok Sabha election from West Champaran Lok Sabha constituency as opposition alliance candidate. Irrespective of opposition candidate BJP will win this constituency."

Replying to the post, Manoj Bajpayee wrote, “Achcha ye bataiye ye baat kisne bola ya kal raat Sapna aaya ? Boliye boliye!".Translating the post, the actor meant, "So tell me, who said this or did a dream occur last night? Speak speak speak!”  The reports of him making a political debut first circulated when he met with the RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in Bihar, back in September 2022. 

When Manoj Bajpayee asserted he would never join politics 

Previously as well Manoj Bajpayee had addressed speculations of him joining politics. In conversation with PTI, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor asserted that there is no chance of him ever taking up a job in politics. The actor said, “When I visited Bihar last time, I met Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. Since then, people started speculating that I will join politics. I am 200 per cent sure I won't do that. Question of joining politics does not arise at all.”
