Millie Bobby Brown is certain that marrying her 21-year-old fiancé Jake Bongiovi, whom she has been dating for more than two years, is the right next step for her. In a new interview with Glamour, the Stranger Things actress responded to those who criticised her for marrying at a young age. Brown said that she has learned to trust her intuition. "It’s like—I know I should make this movie now. I know I should write this book now. I know I should do this now," she said.

During the interview, Millie Bobby Brown discussed her initial thoughts on marriage before meeting her fiancé Jake Bongiovi. Millie admitted that she had never fantasised about a marriage. "My dream was to have a baby," she admitted, adding that she has always known she wanted children. Meeting Jake changed her mind about marriage. "When I met Jake, I just felt I could be loud. He embraced that and encouraged that. And I fell in love with myself while being with him," she said.

Millie Bobby Brown also spoke about not having to be a "stereotypical wife" to Jake Bongiovi. "He wants me to go and do my thing and live my life, and he will hold my hand in the process of that," the actress continued. She admitted that being a teenager causes insecurities, but her instincts helped shape her successful career, which is why she trusts herself.

Jake Bongiovi reacts to his son's engagement with Millie

Previously, Jake's father Jon Bon Jovi had hit back at critics of his son's proposal saying he doesn't think age matters - as he met his own wife Dorothea when he was in high school. The'Livin' on a Prayer hitmaker gave his thoughts on the matter during an interview on American radio in May this year.

Speaking to host Andy Cohen on 'Radio Andy' show, 61-year-old Jon shared: "I don't know if age matters. You know, if you find the right partner and you grow together. I think that would be my advice really, growing together is wise. So I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with, and we like them all."

The show's host further stated that Jon went on to call his future daughter-in-law Millie "wonderful," adding "her whole family is great." More importantly, Jon confirmed on the show that the couple are very much in love saying, "Jake is very, very happy."

Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, who got engaged in April this year, are yet to announce a date for their wedding.
