Actor Mithun Chakraborty was once married to Helena Luke. The actress-turned-flight attendant breathed her last on November 3. She was married to the Disco Dancer fame for just four months before parting ways.

Mithun Chakraborty and Helena Luke got married in 1979. At the time, the actor had broken up with Sarika and immediately married Helena. In an interview post their split, the actress shared that Mithun had promised her the world before marriage.
 

However, due to their personal differences, the couple filed a divorce four months later. In an interview with Stardust magazine at the time, Helena accused Mithun of brainwashing her and being possessive. She said, "I only wish it hadn’t happened, he (Mithun) was the one who brainwashed me into believing that he was the man for me, unfortunately, he succeeded. I’ll never go back to him even if he is the richest guy around. I haven’t even asked for alimony, it was a nightmare, and it’s over.”

When Helena Luke called Mithun Chakraborty ‘extremely immature, possessive’

In the same interview, Helena recalled Mithun assuring her that he truly loved her. She shared, “I really believed him when he told me that he loved me. But when I got to know him better, I realized that he loved no one but himself. He was extremely immature, and though I was years younger than him, I felt much older. He was very possessive and accused me of seeing my ex-boyfriend Javed on the sly. I used to go blue in the face trying to convince him that I didn’t, but couldn’t succeed in eradicating his deep-rooted suspicious nature. It was only later that I realized he had a guilt complex. He himself was fooling around my back and thought I was doing the same.”

The Disco Dancer fame went on to marry actres Yogeeta Bali in 1979. They are parents to four children.
