Nick Jonas' Birthday: Singer Explains Why He Is Called ‘National Jiju’ By Indian Fans

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are the epitome of a perfect couple. After tying the knot with the ‘desi girl’ of Bollywood, he has been officially tagged as the ‘National Jiju’ by Indian fans. In a throwback video, Nick Jonas opened up why is being called as National Jiju by Indian fans.

Why Nick Jonas is being addressed by National Jiju?

From his fatherhood journey to his favourite dance step taught by his wife, Nick Jonas made several fun revelations. In the video shared by the Instagram handle of Fallon Tonight, Jimmy asks Nick about his nickname. Explaining to him, the singer said, “As you know I am married to an Indian woman”. Nick added, “When we got married this hashtag started. It was ‘National Jiju’ and Jiju means elder sister’s husband, so effectively I’m the older brother to India, which is very sweet”.

Jimmy then further inquires, “So they introduced you as Jiju and played a clip from The Jonas Brothers concert in Mumbai, in which Nick’s elder brothers Joe and Kevin introduced hum as Jijju and the crowd started chanting jiju jiju. The video concluded with Nick saying that he loves that.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra began dating in May 2018. The couple got engaged in August 2018 in a Punjabi Roka ceremony in Mumbai. By the end of 2018, they got married at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur in Hindu and Christian ceremonies. In January 2022, the couple welcomed a daughter named Malti Marie. She was born via surrogacy.

Priyanka Chopra has project named Bluff. It will feature the actor in the role of a former female pirate. The Prime Video film hails from Russo Brothers' banner AGBO Studios and  Amazon  MGM Studios. It is directed by Frank E Flowers, who has co-written it with Joe Ballarini.

She also has Heads of State in the pipeline. The film will star Idris Elba, John Cena and Jack Quaid in key roles. Nick Jonas was seen in  March 2023 where he and King released a single in Hindi and English, titled “Maan Meri Jaan”.
