Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his social media handle to pay tribute to Sr NTR on his 101 birth anniversary. Actor, director, and politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) was a legendary figure. He was Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister for seven years. He also received three National Awards and appeared in 300 films.

PM Modi took to his X handle to pen a note remembering NTR. He wrote, "Remembering the legendary NTR on his birth anniversary. He was a remarkable icon of Telugu cinema and a visionary leader. His contributions to film and politics continue to inspire generations. From his unforgettable roles on screen to his transformative leadership, he is fondly remembered. We will keep working to fulfil his vision for our society."

Jr NTR and others pay tribute to NTR

Not just Jr NTR, but his brother, Nandamuri Kalyanram, also arrived at NTR ghat to pay tribute to his grandfather. Both actors offered flowers at the memorial as a sign of respect. NTR's son, actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, was also present at the ghat to honor his late father.

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, affectionately known as NTR, was a multifaceted Indian actor, producer, director, editor, and politician who served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years. He was awarded three National Film Awards for co-producing Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Seetharama Kalyanam (1960), and for directing Varakatnam (1970). NTR also received the Rashtrapati Awards for his performances in films like Raju Peda (1954) and Lava Kusa (1963).
