Actress Tanishaa Mukherji made a shocking revelation on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, where she opened about a traumatic experience while shooting for her debut film Sssshhh. Tanishaa said that she slipped into a coma after a serious accident. This happened as she gave a heartfelt performance for her pet dog Leo, who is unwell.
Tanishaa Mukherji suffered severe concussion
In 2003, while traveling to Manali with the cast and crew of Sssshhh, an accident happened which left everyone injured. During this Tanishaa fell out of the car and went underneath it. As a result, she suffered a severe concussion. She further shared that her mother Tanuja initially believed she had lost her life. Tanishaa said, “My mom thought I had died; she was very scared. I have no memory of the accident at all. Doctors told me a month after the accident that I couldn't continue shooting, but the producers said the movie would be shelved if I didn't shoot.”
Even though the doctors said that shooting won’t be feasible for her, the filmmakers insisted on keeping her as the female lead. While she was recovering, her pet dog Maxx stayed by her side. Explaining what happened, Tanishaa said, “It took a year for my concussion and the swelling in my brain to subside, but I completed the film. But when a concussion had happened and I was at home for a month before leaving for the shoot, my dog Max, who has now passed away, used to be with me and sleep beside me.”
Actress pays tribute to her dog
Tanishaa garnered a lot of praise for her dance performance. Judges Malaika Arora and Farah Khan were deeply impressed by the tribute she paid to her dog. An emotional Farah said, “First, let me tell you, such a touching act. I could feel a bond between you and your pet.” She added, “Tanishaa it is evident that not only your attitude but your body has changed. You seem more toned; your way of holding yourself, your entire body language has changed.”
