Hanumankind, aka Sooraj Cherukat, was among the many performers at the Modi and US supershow in New York. After rocking the stage, the talented rapper earned a prestigious meet-and-greet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The Indian Prime Minister warmly embraced Hanumankind and his fellow performers, Aditya Gadhvi and Devi Sri Prasad, creating unforgettable scenery. However, a particular moment between the Prime Minister with Hanumankind has now gone viral on social media.

Prime Minister says 'Jai Hanuman' upon meeting hugging Rapper Hanumankind

A video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi hugging rapper Hanumankind is going viral on social media. The rapper performed at Nassau Coliseum in New York on Sunday, September 22, in front of the Prime Minister and the Indian diaspora, alongside other global artists like Devi Sri Prasad and Aditya Gadhvi. Hanumankind performed his hit track Big Dawgs before Prime Minister Modi.

After the performances, Prime Minister Modi met Hanumankind and other artists, shaking hands and giving them a warm hug. Before hugging Hanumankind, PM Modi also said, "Jai Hanuman", seemingly referring to his name. The video with this particular clip is now viral, with many music fans expressing their admiration.

A 3-day Modi-US started on September 21 and will last till today September 23. Around 15,000 members of the Indian diaspora from 42 states gathered at Nassau Coliseum to welcome Prime Minister Modi. Artists from different groups had reportedly been preparing traditional music for days, according to ANI. At the event, they performed 'Yakshagana', a popular folk dance from Kerala and Karnataka's coastal regions.

Hanumankind to host his first-ever tour in India

Meanwhile, Hanumankind has recently announced his first-ever India tour for September 2024, with performances scheduled in Bengaluru and Mumbai. Known for tracks like Big Dawgs, Rush Hour, Genghis, and Go To Sleep, he is quickly becoming a prominent figure in mainstream hip-hop. 

Having spent his early years in Texas, Sooraj blended Texas-inspired sounds into the Big Dawgs music video, creating a seamless mix of desi and global influences.
