Diljit Dosanjh set the stage on fire with his 2-day concert in Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Delhi concert, part Dil-Luminati India tour, was held over the weekend with over 50,000 people in attendance. However, the next day turned out to be a nightmare for the athletes who visited JLN Stadium for practice. According to former youth Asian gold medallist Beant Singh, the venue was left in disarray with spoiled food, alcohol bottles and other garbage all over the stadium. The running tracks where the racers practice every day were also strewn.
Not just this, he also claimed that sports equipment was also broken and thrown in a corner.
Look at the 'poor condition' of JLN Stadium post Diljit Dosanjh concert
Beant Singh took to his Instagram handle and shared a video showing the whole stadium littered with garbage. In the video, he can be heard saying in Hindi which we loosely translated to, "This is the status of sports, sportspersons, and stadiums in India. Athletes practice here, but people drink alcohol and hold music events here, keeping the stadium closed for ten days at a time. The equipment and practice gear of athletes have been broken and thrown around."
He showed athletes cleaning the long jump pit, racing track and other places. He also showed a corner where all the equipment had been stacked in poor conditions.

The third user wrote, "Destroying equipment is not cool!"
However, a section of the Internet pointed out that he could have waited for a day to let the authorities clean the place. "Arey bhai tu kal vahi toh naach ra tha?? Aaj video bana ra hai Hangover utar gaya kya."
Another said that stadiums are multipurpose venues and the condition is common when a large-scale event is held. "Kya bekaar ki baat ki hai! Kisi bhi country mein sports stadiums are multipurpose venues. Wahan sports practice bhi hoti hai, concerts bhi hote hain aur conclaves bhi. Kisi ke baap ka stadium nahi hai. Besides, harr bade event mein dismantle days hote hain which is around 2-3 days depending on the amount of equipment used. 2 din toh do. Bakwaas karne sabse pehle pohnch jayegi janta. Baatein aisi hain jaise 365/365 days practice chal rahi hai," a user wrote.
Cleaning will take 24 hours: Stadium authorities react
Soon after the athletes rose in an uproar over the condition of the stadium, authorities immediately replied that they would take 24 hours to clean the stadium, per Sportstar. “The contact of SAI with the organisers states that they will return the stadium to SAI in the same way that it was handed over to them. 70,000 people attended the concert over two days and the cleaning will take 24 hours. The stadium is expected to be cleaned up by October 29," stadium authorities told the portal.
