Anne Hathaway opens up about how shelved Spiderman film possibly led to a part in Nolan’s film

Hollywood actress Anne Hathway recently opened up about one of her shelved projects on a podcast, and how it impacted her career progress. The actress was referring to Spiderman 4, which was in the planning stage for nearly 4 years before being called her.

It’s better if the producers tell the story, Hathaway said about Spiderman 4 being shelved

During her appearance in the Happy Sad Podcast, Hathaway recollected, “I did not get into costume and I did not read a script past the audition sides.” When probed further on the subject, Hathaway stated that she thinks it’s better if the producers themselves offer a clarification on the reasons for Spiderman 4 being shelved, adding, ‘should they ever decide to tell it.’ Hathaway was roped in to play the part of Felicia Hardy/Black Cat in the shelved film, which was being helmed by Sam Raimi.

Although Spiderman 4 did not materialise, Anne Hathaway did end up playing a Catwoman in another film, The Dark Knight Rises by Christopher Nolan. In the same podcast, Hathaway noted that she believes The Dark Knight Rises role would not have materialised if Spiderman 4 did not get shelved to begin with. Hathaway elaborated on her stance, saying, “I don't know if I would have been considered (for Dark Knight Rises) because I don't know if Nolan would've said, 'No, no, she's occupied in another universe.”

Anne Hathaway will be soon seen in the period drama Eileen, which explores the prison life in that time period against a New England backdrop.  Additionally, the actress will also be seen in the romantic comedy She Came To Me, and the David Lowery directorial Mother Mary.
