The Cartoon Network site has officially been taken down. The news comes a month after #ripcartoonnetwork began trending on social media. However, representatives of the channels have assured fans that the shows will be available on other streams like the channel and apps.

The Cartoon Network site was taken down

On August 9, the landing page of CartoonNetwork.com redirected users to Max. The new site is Warner Bros. Discovery‘s recently launched streaming service. Upon opening the website, users are met with the prompt, “Looking for episodes of your favourite Cartoon Network shows? Check out what’s available to stream on Max (subscription required)."

It also notes that the content of the website can be viewed via the linear channel and connected apps. This also seems to be the only site affected in the Warner Bros Discovery group of sites. Closing the popup message redirects users to the Cartoon Network channel on Max, again with prompts to sign up for the streamer.

Cartoon Network issues official statement

As soon as the users began complaining about the issues, the representatives of the channel issued an official statement. A part of the note, as reported by Variety read, “We are focusing on the Cartoon Network shows and social media where we find consumers are the most engaged and there is a meaningful potential for growth."

However, the statement clarified that the shows will continue to stream on television. The statement continued, “While we have closed some digital products, fans can continue to interact with Cartoon Network via the Cartoon Network app as well as select TV providers apps on platforms including mobile and connected devices like Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon and via social platforms YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. And of course, fans also can continue to tune in to the Cartoon Network channel to enjoy 11 hours of their favorite Cartoon Network series from 6 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.”
