There have been plenty of rumours flying around about the casting and character base of the much-awaited superhero movie The Batman Part 2. One of those many rumours was about the coterie of villains who will be part of the narrative. Many reports stated that the characters of Professor Pyg and Scarecrow would be joining Clayface, Hush, and Dick Grayson in the Batman part 2 universe.
However, DC Studio Head James Gunn has now offered his comments on the same. Replying to a viral post on the social media app Threads that made a claim about presence of multiple villains in the upcoming film, Gunn posted on his page, “Nope. Totally made up."
If the rumours were true, it would have been the first time Clayface, along with with Professor Pyg and Hush, would appear in a film. It is to be noted that In Christopher Nolan’s magnum opus The Dark Knight Rises, the character of Scarecrow was played on Oppenheimer actor Cilian Murphy.
It has been over a year that Gunn has been in the CEO position at the DC Studios, along with Peter Safran. The two have launched many projects in the existing DCU while also supervising the launch of new DC cinematic universe. It was in their reign that Matt Reeves’ The Batman was launched. After it’s success, the film was accorded the Elseworlds label in DC projects universe, which allowed it to exist outside the continuity of their DCU.
Currently, The Batman Part 2 is scheduled for release on October 3, 2025.
