Deadpool and Wolverine is one of the biggest Hollywood offerings this year. The Marvel Universe movie will hit the big screens on July 26. The advanced booking for the film has commenced and has registered a massive response from the Indian audience. The movie has the potential to beat Hollywood biggies in the past to become the highest-opening English movie in India.

Deadpool and Wolverine expected to cross ₹30 crore at Indian box office

Deadpool and Wolverine advanced bookings opened in India only a few days ago. Directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the titular roles respectively, Deadpool & Wolverine is the third film in the franchise. The 334th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows the story of Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018).

As per Sacnilk, the Ryan Reynolds film is expected to open above ₹30 Crore. As of now, 5 Hollywood movies have crossed the ₹30 Crore mark on day 1 of release in gross domestic collections. The films are - Avengers: Endgame, Avatar: The Way of Water, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Avengers: Infinity War and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. If Deadpool and Wolverine grosses over ₹30 crore on day 1, it will become the highest opening A-rated film in India ever.

4 days ahead of the film's release, Deadpool and Wolverine have sold 36674159 tickets in formats including English 3D, English Imax 3D, Hindi 3D, English 2D, Hindi 2D as well as in Tamil and Telugu. As per Sacnilk, the action flick has minted ₹3.67 Cr in advanced bookings sales so far. The film will have to beat Spider-Man: No Way Home's opening day collection (₹32.67 crore) to become the highest Hollywood opener in India post-pandemic.

Can Deadpool and Wolverine trump in Kalki 2898 AD and Bad Newz juggernaut?

Though Deadpool and Wolverine is a solo Hollywood release on July 26 in India, the film does face significant competition from films already running in theatres like Kalki 2898 AD and Bad Newz. Both the movies are having a successful theatrical run at the box. On the third weekend of its release, Prabhas starrer magnum opus film Kalki 2898 AD raked in ₹17.4 crore taking the film's total to a staggering ₹616.85 crore in India.

Vicky Kaushal-Triptii Dimri starrer Bad Newz is also off to a good start at the domestic box office. At the end of the first weekend, the film has minted a decent total of ₹29.7 crore. It is to be seen if Deadpool and Wolverine can deter competition from the domestic releases.
