Dhanush In Avengers 5? Tamil Star Reportedly Joining $30 Billion Superhero Franchise
If Robert Downey Jr's return to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday was not crazy enough for the fans, there might be more in the offing.

Robert Downey Jr is returning to Marvel’s films, but not as Iron Man. He’ll play the villain Victor Von Doom, or Doctor Doom, in Avengers: Doomsday, set for 2026 release. If Downey's return to the MCU was not crazy enough for the fans, there might be more in the offing. Reportedly, Dhanush is in early talks to feature in a role in Avengers 5, directed by the Russo Brothers.
Buzz intensifies around Dhanush's casting in MCU
According to chatter on social media and reports in the media, Dhanush may join the MCU in the upcoming Avengers 5. Indian faces are not new to MCU. Previously, Farhan Akhtar has played a small part in the limited series Ms Marvel (2022). It also featured Mohan Kapur in a supporting role. Harish Patel featured in The Eternals (2021) alongside stars like Richard Madden and Angelina Jolie among others.
Coming back to Dhanush, the National Award-winning actor has worked with Avengers 5 director due Anthony and Joe Russo in Netflix release The Gray Man. He will also return as Avik San as the franchise moves ahead. With Russo Brothers having already worked with Dhanush, their collaboration for Avengers: Doomsday does not seem unlikely.
RDJ's return to MCU
The Russo brothers, who will be directing the movie featuring Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom, said his appearance in the film is “proof of the unimaginable possibilities in the Marvel multi-universe.” Downey Jr has essayed Tony Stark aka Iron-Man in 10 MCY films so far, from Iron-Man (2008) to Avengers: Endgame (2019). The sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe had now topped $30 billion in box-office earnings.
