Hollywood News: Joaquin Phoenix is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The Joker actor may have exited the gay romance drama directed by Todd Haynes just a few days before the production began, but it seems like he has done it before.
Why did Joaquin Phoenix threaten to quit Napoleon?
According to reports, Joaquin has the habit of getting cold feet before the project commences and has put this into action by getting out of the projects abruptly. Reports suggest that he threatened to leave Ridley Scott’s Napoleon unless his The Master filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson was brought in to do rewrites. Placated, he stayed aboard the project, and it arrived in theaters late last year.
According to sources, some producers have ideally talked about blackballing Phoenix over the Haynes departure. There are reports, a legal action might be taken against Phoenix.
The controversy comes as Phoenix is all set for his upcoming film The Joker: Folie à Deux to Venice and likely to other festivals as well. The Haynes movie drama could cast a dent over the press tour, though Phoenix historically does very little solo press.
