Safdie Brothers part ways
In a conversation with Variety, Benny confirmed the "amicable" split from his brother Josh, referring to it as "a natural progression of what we each want to explore.” The actor–director said, “It’s a natural progression of what we each want to explore. I will direct on my own, and I will explore things that I want to explore. I want that freedom right now in my life.”
Before the announcement of the split, the two were supposed to work together on a sequel to Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler. According to him, the film is now "on pause." In response to the question of whether he intended to direct alongside his brother in the future, the Oppenheimer actor said, "I don't know."
