The much-anticipated return to Arrakis has been teased with a new trailer for Denis Villeneuve's upcoming sci-fi epic, Dune: Part Two. Set to debut in theatres on March 1, 2024, the film promises a continuation of the journey into the rich and expansive world of Frank Herbert's Dune universe.

The trailer also introduces Christopher Walken's Emperor Shaddam IV and offers a chilling close-up of Austin Butler's "psychotic" Feyd-Rautha.

Dune: Part Two continues the grandeur of its predecessor. Denis Villeneuve appears to have outdone himself, presenting great wide shots of the colossal sandworms that inhabit Arrakis. The trailer hints at the meticulous world-building that fans can expect from this installment.

What do we know about Dune: Part Two?

Dune: Part Two is confirmed to have a runtime of 166 minutes, making it Denis Villeneuve's longest film to date. Originally slated for a November release, the film's schedule was adjusted to March 15, 2024, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike preventing promotional activities. However, with the conclusion of the strikes, the release date was moved up to March 1.

The film's official synopsis, provided by Warner Bros. and Legendary, offers a glimpse into the narrative which read, "Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee."

Dune: Part Two stars Timothee Chalamet reprising his role as Paul Atreides, alongside returning talents Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stephen McKinley Henderson. The sequel introduces new faces to the franchise, including Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Souheila Yacoubas Shishakli.
