Hollywood Walk of Fame: Spider-Man actor Willem Dafoe to be honoured with 2024's first star

The latest addition to Hollywood's star-studded Walk of Fame, is actor Willem Dafoe. Over a hundred films old in the profession, Dafoe will be the first public figure of 2024 to be bestowed with this honour. Dafoe's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, once installed, will mark the walk's 2768th star.

Willem Dafoe to be honoured in the first week of January

As per an intimation on the official website of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the ceremony for Willem Dafoe's star will be held on January 8 at the famous Hollywood Boulevard. Receiving the star under the category of Motion Pictures, the ceremony is slated to commence at 11.30 AM (pacific time). While Ellen K has been roped in as the emcee for the occasion, actor-director Patricia Arquette and actor Pedro Pascal will be gracing the ceremony as guest speakers. 

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has been a pop culture cornerstone and massive tourist attraction ever since the 1960s. Located in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Willem Dafoe's ceremony will be streamed live on walkoffame.com.

Willem Dafoe is a four-time Academy Award nominee

Willem Dafoe has had a much celebrated career spanning over a hundred films. Most notable among these have been The Lighthouse,  John Wick,  Finding Nemo, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Nosferatu and Asteroid City, to name a few. Th actor also possesses four Academy Award nominations - three of these were for the category of Best Supporting Actor, in films Platoon, Shadow of the Vampire and The Florida Project.

The fourth nomination was under the category of Best Leading Actor, for the film At Eternity's Gate. Dafoe is also one of the founding members of The Wooster Group, a New York-based experimental theatre collective - further expressing his passion for his craft.
