James Cameron’s Avatar 3 Gets Official Title, 2025 Release Date At Disney D23 Convention

The makers have finally unveiled the title and release date of the third part of Avatar franchise alongwith the concept art.

Avatar fans, buckle up, as the third part of the film is just one year away. Avatar is one of the few films in which title reveal is enough to excite the fans. When James Cameron shared the news, fans couldn’t contain their excitement.

Avatar 3 title and release date revealed

Avatar 3 has officially been titled as Avatar: Fire and Ash. According to reports, James Cameron appeared at Disney’s D23 convention and unveiled the title to the audience. He said, “It’s so gratifying to feel that love for this world of Pandora and these characters that my team has been working on for over 18 years. I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on for ‘Avatar 3.’ Every day when I’m reviewing new shots, it’s like Christmas morning."

He further added, “The characters are so alive and it all feels so real. As you’d expect, it’s this insane adventure but it’s also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before.”

“You’re going to see a lot more of Pandora the planet that you’ve never seen before," James Cameron added.

The official page of Avatar released the poster and wrote in the caption, “Just announced at #D23, our title for the next Avatar film:….Avatar: Fire and Ash. Get ready to journey back to Pandora, in theatres December 19, 2025.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash is schedule to releases in theatres by Disney’s 20th Century Studios on December 19, 2025. For the unversed, Avatar 3 was filmed in New Zealand.

Fans reaction to Avatar 3 announcement

Excited fans flooded the comments section quickly. One user wrote, “Yess!! I’ve been waiting for this announcement”. Another user wrote, “Cannot wait”. “Drop the teaser now”, wrote the third user.

Several cast members from the first two films will reprise their roles including Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldana as Neyitri, Sigourney Weaver as Dr Grace Augustine, Joel David Moore as Norm Spellman and Jack Champion as Javier Spider Socorro.

Meanwhile, new faces will also be seen  including the Game of Thrones actor Oona Chaplin. In Avatar: The Way of Water, Jake and Neytiri have children and live on Pandora. However, humans soon attack the planet again, forcing Jake's family to seek safety with the Metkayina people, an oceanic clan.

Avatar 3  follows the story after events of 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, which is to the sequel of 2009’s Avatar.
