John Wick director says he wants to make a Star Wars movie: Let’s see if Disney could survive me

Chad Stahleski, who rose to worldwide fame with his John Wick franchise movies, had last directed, is currently one of the busiest filmmakers in Hollywood. In a recent media interaction, Stahleski spoke about his desire to attempt a Star Wars movie in his career.

Star Wars film changed my life: John Wick director 

Speaking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz, Stahleski described himself as a ‘Star Wars guy,’ elaborating on how the said franchise changed his life. The filmmaker added, “Maybe someday out there. Disney, if you’re listening, hit me in a couple of years and I have a couple of takes for Star Wars.’ On a jestful note, the filmmaker added, “Let’s see if Disney could survive me.”

Among other subjects, the John Wick director also informed that they are planning to put together a series on their successful franchise. He also appreciated the streaming platform Lionsgate for being ‘very cool about backing’ them. He also said that the strikes began just when they began to work out the nitty gritty of the project, adding, “hopefully maybe in this TV series we can bring back some of the people we love.”

There’s no happy ending for John Wick, the filmmaker stated

John Wick: Chapter 4, the latest part of the Keanu Reeves starrer franchise which released on March 24, 2023, had an open-ended climax, with a consciously vague sequence about John Wick’s mortality. For the same reasons, speculations had began whether there would be a follow-up film in the franchise. Addressing the same speculations, Stahleski spoke about how he and Reeves had initially planned a character for the protagonist.

However, he added later, “We just figured there’s no way out for this guy, like, if we really stay hardboiled and we really stay with our fate and our consequence, all our mantra here, you can’t — there’s no happy ending.”
