Kevin Smith takes Jason Momoa's side in the Aquaman 2 controversy, says 'I don't think...'

Film producer Kevin Smith has now offered his comments on the recent controversy surrounding Jason Momoa and Amber Heard. A few days ago, it was reported that Jason Momoa had arrived on sets drunk and dressed up like Johnny Depp.

Jason Momoa just kind of dresses like Johnny Depp, says Kevin Smith

Talking to the popular online portal Comicbook, Kevin Smith said that he didn’t believe Momoa to be the kind of person who would deliberately dress like Depp. Instead, Smith said, that Momoa naturally dresses very similar to Depp, which probably made him more susceptible to the rumour. He said, “I don’t think he just dressed as Johnny Depp. I think he just kind of dresses like Johnny Depp, layers and s–t like that."

To remind the readers, it was recently reported that Jason Momoa had arrived on the sets drunk and dressed as Johnny Depp, and Amber Heard was rather disturbed to see this. 

According to the raw notes scribbled on the court documents that were released online last year, Momoa reportedly also pushed to have Amber Heard out of the latest Aquaman project, especially after her controversial lawsuit with Johnny Depp where the Edward Scisssorhands actor had sued Heard for defamation, alleging that he had lost out on both work assignments and credibility among industry peers after Heard had published an article about being a survivor of sexual assault, alluding to her relationship with Johnny Depp as an example.

Jason Momoa looks like Lobo: Kevin Smith

Among other subjects, Kevin Smith also opined about the possibility of Jason Momoa being signed on to play Lobo in the Superman franchise. Smith said, “That makes absolute sense. Jason looks like Lobo.”

Kevin Smith is a Hollywood maverick who became a cult figure after producing the 1994 sleeper hit Clerk. In the last 29 years, Smith has worked as an executive producer and Producer on notable films like Good Will Hunting, Red State, and Bear Nation. Smith has not worked with either Jason Momoa or Amber Heard on any project, though.
