Charles Melton is currently basking in the success of his recent release May December. The actor has already earned a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category and is also expected to get a nod at the Academy Awards. In the midst of this, the actor looked back on his journey on Riverdale, a CW show that brought him to the limelight. It came to its end earlier this year after six years and 137 episodes.

In a conversation with i-D, Melton talked about the ending of Riverdale and compared the show to his own version of ‘Juilliard’, referring to the prestigious performing arts school in New York City. The actor said, “Obviously it frees up more time for projects like May December, but I learned so much being there. I formed relationships that I will have until the end of my days. It really helped me refine this work ethic. Riverdale truly was my Juilliard – I was learning and growing and playing and taking risks. I was allowed to do that. We just had our final season, so you know, it’s... It’s bittersweet. But I’m so happy it brought joy to so many people.”

Melton's seven-season tenure with Riverdale came to an end when the show concluded earlier this August. His costars Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart, and Madelaine Petsch were among those who paid tribute to their time on the series earlier this fall after the cast wrapped up filming Riverdale.

Now, Gracie is seemingly happily married to Joe, with kids of their own and a picturesque lifestyle in idyllic coastal Georgia. In the movie, Joe, now an emotionally stunted 36-year-old, is finally grappling with the trauma of his relationship’s origins and questioning what that means for his marriage and life.
