The Equalizer 3 on OTT: When, where to watch Denzel Washington starrer action film

Denzel Washington's The Equalizer 3 has premiered on OTT in India. After a successful box office run in India and abroad, the high-on-action film starring the Academy Award winner as a vigilante has premiered digitally ahead of Dussehra. However, it is available for rent on Prime Video as of now and app subscribers will have to wait some more time to stream it for free.

The Equalizer 3 makes OTT debut

Released theatrically on September 1, The Equalizer 3 is the third installment in the vigilante action film starring Denzel Washington as the retired US Marine and DIA officer Robert McCall. The commercially successful series is directed by Antoine Fuqua. The threequel, which was filmed through the pandemic, came five years after the second film in the series.

On Prime Video, The Equalizer 3 is available for rent at ₹249 for a one-time viewing. In the coming days, it will also be available for free for the app subscribers.    

The Equalizer 3 conquers box office

The Equalizer franchise, which kick-started in 2014, gave Denzel Washington a new lease on his career as an action star. It brought together Denzel and director Antoine Fuqua after the 2001 hit film Training Day, which earned teh actor his second acting Oscar.

At the box office, all three of The Equalizer films have been box office hits. The Equalizer grossed $101 million domestically and $192 million worldwide, while The Equalizer 2 (2018) concluded its domestic run with $102 million, and grossed $191 million globally. The Equalizer 3 minted $177 million globally and remained shy of becoming the biggest hit of the franchise.

The box office success of The Equalizer 3 came amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, during which actors were forbidden from engaging in promotional activities.
