Will Smith recently attended the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During the event, he spoke about his highly anticipated film I Am Legend 2." The actor, who is also producing the sequel alongside Michael B. Jordan, disclosed that the upcoming film would follow the alternate ending featured in the 2007 movie's DVD release.

Will Smith, part of the star-studded Hollywood lineup at the festival, engaged in an In Conversation event, shedding light on the creative direction of I Am Legend 2. He emphasised the significance of the DVD's alternate ending, which deviates from the theatrical version, where Smith's character meets his demise.
He said, "You have to be a real ‘I Am Legend’ buff to know this, but in the first, theatrical version, my character dies, but on the DVD there was an alternate version of the ending where my character lived. We are going with the mythology of the DVD version. I can’t tell you anything more, but Michael B. Jordan is in.”
