Rajinikanth starrer Jailer has emerged as a roaring at the box office, not just in India but overseas as well. Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film has surpassed Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram in Tamil Nadu and emerged as the second-highest grosser in the state after Mani Ratnam's multi-starrer Ponniyin Selvan-I. Jailer has also become the highest-grossing Tamil film overseas.

Jailer becomes the first Kollywood film to earn USD 23 million overseas
As per trade analyst Girish Johar, Rajinikanth's actioner has earned USD 23 million (₹185 crore). It has also become the highest-grossing Tamil film overseas, leaving behind Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan-I, which topped the list with 165.45 crore, followed by Vikram at Rs 128 crore. Now, Jailer has set its eyes on ₹650 crore at worldwide box office collection.

Taking to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, Johar wrote, "And #Jailer is still doing very strrrrong business as it clocks nearly $23M (₹185crs aprox) from Overseas alone making it the #1 Kollywood Film ... is eyeing ₹600 GBOC now."
Jailer stands steady on Day 24
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned ₹2.59 crore on Day 24 (September 2) at India box office, taking its total collection to Rs 332.85 crore. On Saturday, the film witnessed a strong occupancy in Tamil states at 31.40%.

After earning big in the theatres, Jailer is all set to premiere on OTT on September 7. Co-starring Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Tamannaah Bhatia, Jackie Shroff and Shiva Rajkumar, the film will be available for streaming on Prime Video.
