The wait is finally over as Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are all set to bring chaos to the big screen in Joker: Folie à Deux. As Joker and Harley Quinn, Phoenix and Lady Gaga star in director Todd Philips' follow-up to 2019, billion-dollar grossing Joker. The sequel to the 2019 Academy Award-winning crime drama promises to be just as thrilling, with the iconic duo causing mayhem and madness in the streets of Gotham.
Joker: Folie à Deux picks up where the first film left off, with Arthur Fleck institutionalised at Arkham Asylum awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. But as he struggles with his dual identity, Arthur discovers true love and finds solace in music. He grapples with his inner demons and finds an unexpected ally in Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn. Together, they create a symphony of chaos that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. Moreover, with an all-star cast, including Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener, Joker: Folie à Deux is expected to be bigger than ever. Zazie Beetz reprises her role from the original Joker.
Behind the camera, director Todd Phillips reunites with his Joker team, including Oscar-nominated director of photography Lawrence Sher, production designer Mark Friedberg, and Oscar-winning composer Hildur Guđnadóttir.
The much-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 film Joker, titled Joker: Folie à Deux,” will hit theatres on October 4, 2024. With its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September, Joker: Folie à Deux is set to make yet another lasting impact on the film industry.
