'Just looking like a wow' trend takes over Bollywood, know its origin and how it became viral meme

Deepika Padukone recently became the latest star to join in on the 'Just looking like a wow' trend on social media. Previously, cricket player KL Rahul posted a comical video in which he was praising his wife Athiya Shetty using the same trend. What precisely is this "Just looking like a wow" fad that is sweeping social media?

Origin of the Just looking like a wow trend

It all started with a viral video, in which a clothes seller named Jasmeen Kaur was zealously hawking salwar suits. In the clip, Kaur described the outfits as "just looking like a wow" multiple times. Her contagious enthusiasm and energy caused the video to become an instant hit very fast. There were several reasons why people were drawn to the video. Kaur's sales presentation was amusing, to start with. 

Her excitement was infectious as she described the garments with a range of exaggerated motions and expressions. In addition, the clip offered a welcome diversion from the stylized and frequently exaggerated visuals that are frequently connected to the fashion industry. 

Kaur frequently appears in videos on her Instagram feed endorsing her goods. She is heard stating that her favorite color is laddoo peela in one of the videos.

How did it become an overnight sensation? 

Music producer Yashraj Mukhate, who gained popularity with his meme video "Rasode me kaun tha," first joined the "Just looking like a wow" trend and shared a hilarious song on it. Later, several celebrities including Deepika Padukone, KL Rahul Nussrat Jahan and Sanya Malhotra also posted their version of the trend on their Instagram handle. 

Post becoming the internet sensation, Jasmeen Kaur has garnered 510K followers on Instagram.
