A family court in Shantinagar dismissed Sandalwood actor Duniya Vijay’s divorce petition against his wife, Nagarathna, on Thursday, IANS reported. Vijay had filed for divorce in 2018, alleging cruelty on her part, but Nagarathna denied the accusations and contested the petition. The court ruled that Vijay failed to substantiate his claims.
The Bengaluru family court dismissed Vijay's petition after determining he could not prove his allegations against Nagarathna, IANS reported. Despite Vijay's offer to take responsibility for their children and provide alimony, Nagarathna opposed the divorce.
Following a thorough review of the case, the court had reserved its decision for June 13 and subsequently issued the order to quash Vijay’s petition on Thursday.As per IANS, Vijay revealed that the actor is currently living separately with his partner, Keerthi Gowda.
Duniya Vijay, a prominent Sandalwood actor, recently made headlines due to his divorce case. In 2018, he filed for divorce from his wife, Nagarathna, accusing her of cruelty. However, Nagarathna denied the charges and opposed the petition. Unfortunately for Vijay, the family court in Bengaluru dismissed his divorce petition, ruling that he failed to prove his allegations against her. Interestingly, this isn't the first time Vijay sought a divorce. Back in 2013, he had applied for divorce from Nagarathna as well. The entertainment industry has witnessed other recent divorce cases too, including TV reality show personalities Chandan Shetty and Niveditha Gowda, as well as actor Yuva Rajkumar seeking divorce from his wife, Sridevi Bhairappa. Despite the legal challenges, Vijay continues to be a prominent figure in the Kannada film industry.
