October 29th marks the second death anniversary of popular Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Puneeth had passed away after suffering a heart attack. The actor was only 46 years old at the time of his demise.

Remembering her late husband, Puneeth’s wife Ashwini took to her social media page and shared a post paying her tribute to him. Ashwini wrote, “Two years in the abyss of his memories." Ashwini’s post further read, "Time stands witness to his larger-than-life presence that is inherent in us and guides our every action. My reverence to family, friends, and his fans who have always showered their love on Appu. We will continue to celebrate his memory and cherish his smile."
Many other notable film personalities also paid their tributes to the late Kannada star. Vikrant Rona actor Kichcha Sudeep shared a photo of Puneet Rajkumar on his Instagram page, captioning the photo with the text ‘our ‘hug’ is eternal. Actor Dhruv Sarja posted a picture of himself with the late actor, where both could be seen smiling broadly, in his fond remembrance of the actor.
Puneeth Rajkumar won a National award as a child artiste
Puneeth Rajkumar’s father Dr. Rajkumar was a very popular film star as well. Before beginning his journey as a leading hero, Puneeth Rajkumar worked in several films as a child artiste in the 1980s and had already won the audience’s hearts before his debut as a ‘hero’ figure. He even won the National Award for best child artiste in the year 1985 for his performance in the film Bettadi Hoovu.

Fondly known as ‘Appu’ among his fans, Puneeth Rajkumar carved his own identity in a few years. After many of his successful films, Puneeth Rajkumar was even given the moniker of ‘Power Star’ by a section of the media. Puneeth Rajkumar was posthumously awarded the Karnataka Ratna award in 2022 on the occasion of the 67th Karnataka Rajyotsava.
Puneeth Rajkumar’s elder brother Shiva Rajkumar too is a popular actor. His latest film Ghost was released on October 19.

Puneeth Rajkumar is survived by his wife Ashwini Revanth and daughters Drithi and Vanditha.
