Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was detained by Bangalore police in Mysore in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, as reported by PTI. The actor, commonly known as Darshan, is being moved to Bangalore for further investigation. However, before we move any further, let us know who Darshan Thoogudeepa is.
Darshan, a prominent figure in the Kannada film industry (Sandalwood), was born on February 16, 1977. He is the son of the esteemed Kannada actor Thoogudeepa Srinivas. Darshan made a significant impact with his debut film Majestic in 2001, which was a major hit and established him as a leading actor in the industry.
Over the years, Darshan has been part of numerous successful films including Kariya (2003), Namma Preethiya Ramu (2003), Gaja (2008), Challenging Star (2008), Saarathi (2011), Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna (2012), Bulbul (2013), and Yajamana (2019). In addition to acting, he launched his own production house, Thoogudeepa Productions, which has produced several successful movies.
Darshan is married to Vijaya Lakshmi, and they have a son named Vineesh. Despite his busy career, he maintains a close relationship with his family, often sharing personal moments with his fans.
Darshan's career has not been free of controversies. In 2011, his marriage faced challenges when he was involved in a domestic violence case with his wife. Additionally, his wife accused him of having an extramarital affair with model Pavitra Gowda, which garnered significant media attention.
Darshan Thoogudeepa has been taken into custody in a murder case, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda told PTI on Tuesday. The 47-year-old was picked up in connection with the murder of a man, identified as Renuka Swamy, on June 9 in Kamakshipalya area of the city, PTI reported. The police are probing to find out if the actor was directly involved in the murder or was part of the conspiracy.
