BLACKPINK sets new record as band's single Kill This Love crosses 1.9 billion views on YouTube

BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 with the album Square One, and tasted success right away with their debut. One of its singles Boombayah became an instant chartbuster.

BLACKPINK, the popular K-pop girl band has emerged as one of the most popular music bands worldwide. Earlier today, the band added yet another feather to their hat as one of their music videos Kill This Love surpassed 1.9 billion views on Youtube. Kill This Love is only the 2nd K-pop music video to achieve this milestone.

Kill This Love released in April 2019

Kill This Love is the title track of BLACKPINK’s second EP. It released around 5 years ago in April 2019. Kill This Love is a robust, energetic anthem about the gusto that’s needed to end a toxic relationship.  The music video for Kill This Love contains all the classic elements associated with BLACKPINK like dynamic choreography, a hypnotic visual design besides also having a cinematic treatment incorporating visuals of a heist, a car crash and scenic locales of Egypt.

While Kill This Love has managed to sustain a great fanbase over the years, it’s popularity was quite instantaneous as well. The said music video had garnered over 50 million views right within the 24 hours of its upload.

BLACKPINK is also the K-pop group with 5 music videos in the billion-view club - As If It’s Your Last, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, and How You Like That are some of the other songs by the band that have surpassed 1 billion Youtube views.
