BTS finds mention in new Michael Jackson documentary, fans awed with the comparison

BTS, the popular Korean boy band, has emerged in last few years as one of the most iconic and popular music bands of all time.  Even though it was compelled to officially disband last year because of their nation’s compulsory military service program, the band continues to enjoy massive loyalty all over the globe. The band added a new feather in their cap as they found in a new Michael Jackson special documentary.

Every move they do is all Michael Jackson, the documentary noted

The said documentary, titled Thriller 40, celebrates 40 years of the iconic Michael Jackson album that established him back then as the undisputed King of Pop. Now a clip from the documentary is going viral, that charters the influence of Michael Jackson’s style on BTS which is quite prominently visible in many of the latter’s music videos. The segment of the documentary mentioned, “Every move they do is all Michael Jackson.”

BTS fans, obviously elated by the comparison, took to social media to express their enthusiasm about the same. One user commented on social media, "So proud of them!! This is amazing."  Another fan posted with great enthusiasm, “I learned a lot about BTS and MJ's influence on them. Great."

4 BTS members were enlisted for military service in 2022

The documentary, directed by filmmaker Nelson George, released on December 2 in United Status, streaming on multiple platforms. The documentary, timed at 90 minutes, captures the impact and influence of Jackson’s music on his times as well as generations to come. 

Meanwhile, in 2022, BTS’ official agency BIGHIT MUSIC had announced that four of BTS members Jimin, RM, V and Jungkook had been enlisted to join the military service. The official statement from the agency read, “The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties. We will inform you of further updates in the due course. We ask you for your continued love and support for RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook until they complete their military service and safely return."
