BTS RM Celebrates 30th Birthday With Military Squad, ARMYs React To Viral Photos

BTS member RM turned 30 on September 12. He is the leader of the popular K-pop group, comprising Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook, and himself. Known offstage as Kim Nam-joon, RM is currently undergoing mandatory military training, having enlisted last year. Despite being under military alliance RM made sure to celebrate this milestone birthday in a special way. He also treated his ARMY with a sneak peek of his mini party with fellow soldiers, along with a heartfelt note on social media.

RM took to his Instagram handle and shared a photo with his army squad, holding a placard that read "saeng-il chukha," meaning "Happy Birthday" in Korean.

In a separate post, RM shared some more photos that show him with a baby, some snaps from a photo booth, with the text “Happy RM Day”, a still from his new song ‘Neva Play’, and more. He wrote in the caption, “Thirty-Ping!”.

BTS’ RM pens a heartfelt note for ARMY

As part of his tradition, RM wrote a thoughtful letter to mark the milestone, sharing both personal updates and words of encouragement with his fans. In his heartfelt message, he expressed appreciation for the love and support he has received throughout his career and as he enters his thirties. He began with, "Hi. I love you all! I'm 30 now. (Already...) Even though I sometimes find this day rather ordinary, receiving your warm congratulations means a lot. Thank you so much. Your support helps me stay strong. You know that, right?"

In his letter, RM included a Buddhist saying: "You only live on your own as a beacon." He explained how this phrase has guided him through moments of doubt, especially during his military service.

RM also updated his fans on his military service, noting that he is now halfway through his term. He reflected, "My military service is now at the halfway point... After the weather warms up and the cherry blossoms bloom, I'll return with renewed courage." BTS RM’s service will conclude in 2025.
