As BTS members prepare for their mandatory military service, the global sensation Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V, has surprised fans by giving a glimpse of his new look on social media. The singer, who announced his enlistment plans earlier this month, has opted for a change in appearance. Ahead of his military enlistment, the idol got a new buzzcut hairstyle.

In a photo shared on his Instagram story, BTS V showed his revamped appearance. The photo showed his chopped hair lying on the floor. He playfully nodded to his fresh haircut in the caption accompanying the photos, using an emoji of a pair of scissors.

BTS' enlistment announcement

After BTS members Jin, J-hope, and SUGA enlisted in the military earlier this year, the rest of the members also announced their enlistment plans on Wednesday. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have begun the process of enlisting in the South Korean army, as per their agency Bighit Music. They will serve their country for the next 18 months.

After much speculation about the group's future, Bighit Music announced on Tuesday that the four youngest members of the group have begun the process of enlisting in the military at the same time.

"Hello, this is Bighit Music. We would like to inform our fans that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have initiated the military enlistment process," the company said in a statement issued via Weverse. “The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties.”

Their enlistment dates have not been set just yet as the label added, "We will inform you of further updates in due course. We ask you for your continued love and support for RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook until they complete their military service and safely return."
