According to the authorities, G-Dragon is the subject of a separate investigation and the two incidents are unrelated. They also stated that as the matter is still being looked into, not much information can be released. The rapper was also under investigation in Japan in 2011 for using marijuana, He said in his statement that a stranger had given him the marijuana, which had the appearance of a cigarette. G-Dragon continued by saying that he had only smoked a little and that it did smell different. His situation was taken into account, and his sentence was suspended as he was a first-time offender and did not smoke frequently.
