Leo audio launch cancelled due to political pressure? Makers clarify

Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo audio launch was scheduled to take place on September 30 in Chennai, according to reports. However, production house Seven Screen Studio announced that the audio launch will not take place. "Overwhelming response and safety constraints" were cited as reasons behind cancellation of the much-awaited event.

Leo audio launch cancelled, netizens shocked

On September 27, Seven Screen Studio took to their social media account to share the news of the audio launch being cancelled. In a post shared on X (formally Twitter), the studio wrote, “Considering overflowing passes requests & safety constraints, we have decided not to conduct the Leo Audio Launch.”

The studio further stated that keeping fans’ anticipation in mind, the makers will keep releasing frequent updates about the film until its release. The news of the audio launch being called off has upset those looking forward to the event.

Earlier, there were rumours that suggested the makers were finding it difficult to find a venue for the audio launch. Speculations were rife on social media about the political agenda being the roadblock in organising the event. Vijay had earlier hinted at taking a leap into politics after wrapping up his film commitments. However, in the post, the production house clearly stated that there was "no political pressure" behind the decision. 

“P.S. As many would imagine, this is not due to political pressure or any other reasons,” the post further read.

Leo starring Thalapathy Vijay is said to be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the music for the action film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander (Jawan, Jailer). The film also stars Trisha Krishnan, Surya, Sanjay Dutt. The makers have been dropping posters of the film pushing the accelerator on the film's promotions ahead of its Dussehra release. They hinted at a "battle" that was brewing with Vijay's titular character preparing for it. 

In the Leo Hindi poster, Vijay came face-to-face with the antagonist, played by Sanjay. On Dusshera, the Tamil film will clash with Ganapath, Tejas, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Bhagavanth Kesari and other titles.
