Mohanlal exudes great power in new poster of Malaikottai Vaaliban

The makers of Malaikottai Vaaliban, the upcoming Mohanlal starrer, shared a new poster of their film earlier this morning. The big-scale period action-drama is scheduled for release in January next year.

New poster exudes great intrigue and drama 

Film’s lead star Mohanlal took to his social media page to share the new poster. The said poster has a haunting feel, where one can see Mohanlal’s character is surrounded by horde of devotees, who are all bowing in front of him out of reverence. The frame is lit with great drama and poetry, where Mohanlal’s character is under the light while others are slightly away from it, most of them far away from the physical and symbolical light. 

Director Lili Jose Pelliserry has earlier made critically acclaimed films like Ee.Ma.Yu and Angamaly Diaries. However, the maker is mostly known for his small-budget indie spirit movies. In complete contrast, Malaikottai Vaaliban promises to be a big-scale action spectacle that captures the stardom of Mohanlal at its heightened best.

Besides Mohanlal, the film features notable actors like Sonalee Kulkarni and Danish Sait in pivotal roles. The film is written by notable screenwriter P.S.Rafique who has earlier penned films like Nayakan (2010), Open (2013) and Thottappan (2017). Rafique has also penned the songs for this film, while Prashant Pillai has composed the music.

Malaikottai Vaaliban shooting took 5 months

The film’s shooting began earlier this year in January, and concluded in June. The crew shot at outdoor locales in places like Rajasthan and Pondicherry, besides setting up a lavish set in Chennai for a 40-day schedule.

Besides Malayalam, Malaikottai Vaaliban will also be released in dubbed versions in the languages of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The Mohanlal starrer is slated to release on January 25, 2024.
