Mohanlal's directorial debut Barroz delayed, to not release in December

Mohanlal is currently in the midst of juggling several projects. To be precise, the actor's attention is currently divided among four big banner projects, most of which are eyeing a release either this year or next year. One of the films in this regard, is seeing a slight delay in release. Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure, will no longer be releasing this year.

Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure to not release this year

The theatrical release date for Mohanlal's Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure, stands officially delayed. The film was slated for a release in December of 2023. This date has now been pushed by the makers of the film to next year. To be specific, Barroz, which is Mohanlal's directorial debut besides the film starring him in the lead as well, will now reportedly be releasing on March 28, 2024.

The script for the fantasy film has been written by Jijo Punnoose. Jijo Punnoose, for the unversed, has penned the scripts for My Dear Kuttichathan or Chhota Chetan. The film's screenplay has been adapted from one of his novels, titled, Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. The film will also be featuring a cast comprising of Guru Somasundaram, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos and Kallirroi Tziafeta. The film is reportedly riding high on impressive technology, having been shot in a 3D format.

Mohanlal has another release lined up for December

Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure was initially slated for a December release. However, the date for the same being postponed does not mean Mohanlal has no releases lined up for the month. The actor recently shared an update regarding his film Neru.

Neru, a legal drama, will be releasing on December 21.
