Varshangalkku Shesham first look: Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan cheer for MGR in viral poster

Vineeth Sreenivasa has finally announced the first look poster of his sixth directorial Varshangalkku Shesham. It was just five months ago when the actor-filmmaker officially announced the title and cast of the Malayalam movie. Produced by Visakh Subramaniam under the banner of Merryland Cinemas, Varshangalkku Shesham will arrive in theatres in April 2024.

Varshangalkku Shesham's first look poster is out now

The poster shows Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan standing on a platform in front of a big picture of MG Ramachandran (MGR) - a famous Tamil actor and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The duo appears to be acting like MGR, mumming his lines, while some kids are playfully making fun of them. 

Their dress, hairstyles, and the overall setting in the poster suggest that the story is set in the past drawing lines with the movie’s name "Years Later."

What makes the poster even more interesting is that Pranav and Dhyan are the sons of popular actors Mohanlal and Sreenivasan. Whenever their dads acted together on-screen, it became a rage across the country, especially in the Nadodikkattu films where they played Dasan and Vijayan.

Vineeth recently announced the wrap-up of Varshangalkku Shesham’s filming

He wrote, “This morning, at 2 am, on Dhyan’s birthday, we finished shooting Varshangalkku Shesham. I am thankful to god that I have an army of people who are passionate about what they do. This is one film where I saw how beautiful the process of filmmaking can be, if everyday and everything is planned meticulously. When you respect the light and when you respect nature, it gives you something precious. It gives you its magic. For me, Varshangalkku Shesham was all about realising this, yet again.”

Other than Pranav and Dhyan, Varshangalkku Shesham also stars Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Basil Joseph, Neeraj Madhav, Neeta Pillai, Arjun Lal, Nikhil Nair and Shaan Rahman.
