This week movie buffs are going to witness a clash between two highly anticipated movies Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan and Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar. While Indian 2 is the sequel to the hit 1996 movie India, Sarfira is a Hindi remake of the 2020 hit movie Soorarai Pottru. Apart from these two Indian movies, the theatres will also offer two movies in English language - Fly Me To The Moon and Longlegs, both releasing on July 12.
Indian 2
In the sequel to Indian (1996), Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. The movie also stars Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani and Nedumudi Venu in pivotal roles. The highly anticipated action drama is slated to hit the theatres on July 12 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.
Sarfira
Directed by Sudha Kongara, Sarfira is another highly anticipated movie of July that is scheduled to release on July 12. A remake of Kongara's Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020), which was an adaptation of G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey, Sarfira follows a man who sets out to make affordable airlines for low-income people, which several enemies try to impede. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles.
The UP Fiies
It is a political drama film written and directed by Neeraj Sahai. The film stars Manoj Joshi, Manjari Fadnis, and Milind Gunaji in the lead roles. The movie is inspired by true events and follows the story of Abhay Singh, who was elected as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (UP), one of the most populous states in India. The film chronicles the challenges Singh faces as he attempts to govern the state and implement his vision. The movie will release on July 12.
Fly Me To The Moon
It is a romantic comedy-drama starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum in the lead roles. The plot follows the relationship between a marketing specialist and a NASA director during the 1960s Space Race. The movie will hit the theatres on July 12.
Longlegs
It is a horror-thriller drama starring Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage, Alicia Witt, Blair Underwood and Kiernan Shipka. The plot follows new FBI agent Lee Harker, who has been assigned to an unsolved case involving the Satanic serial killer known as Longlegs. As the investigation becomes more complicated with occult evidence uncovered, Harker realizes a personal link to the killer and must act quickly to prevent another family murder. The movie will release on July 12.
