Oppenheimer on OTT: When and where to watch Cillian Murphy starrer

Christopher Nolan’s popular biographical film Oppenheimer debuted in theatres on July 21. The movie, starring Cillian Murphy, clashed with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in cinemas, which led to the emergence of the pop-culture phenomenon Barbenheimer. After its thundering success at the box office, the film is finally coming to the streaming service Amazon Prime Video this month. 

When is Oppenheimer releasing on OTT? 

Oppenheimer will be available to rent on Prime Video Store starting November 22 for Rs 149. The announcement was made by Varun Dhawan on his Instagram handle on Tuesday. The actor revealed exclusive details about the movie's release in a fun cut-of-life video. 

For those who don't know, the store provides Prime members with access to a vast library in addition to early rental access to current films.

What is Oppenheimer about? 

Apart from Cillian, the star-studded cast of Oppenheimer includes Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, Michael Angarano, Josh Hartnett and others. The script of the film, which is written by Nolan, is an adaptation of Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin's novel American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer. 

The Pulitzer Prize-winning book provides a summary of Oppenheimer's achievements and the FBI investigation that followed. It demonstrates that the physicist lived his entire life in the shadow of his work, mostly with the guilt of inventing an almost unstoppable weapon with the ability to threaten all life on Earth.
