Streaming On OTT This Week: IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack, Only Murders In The Building S4 And More

OTT Movies And Web Series Releases This Week: Digital platforms such as Netflix, Disney Plus Hotstar, Prime Video, Zee5 and others are set to release a new set of movies and web series this week. From Allur Sirish starrer Buddy and hit series Only Murders in the Building S4 to Vijay Varma starrer IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The list has a range of titles in various genres.

Only Murders in the Building S4

Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez are all set to reprise their roles in the fourth season which is slated to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar on August 27. The story follows three strangers who become friends while investigating a succession of suspicious murders in the Arconia, their affluent Upper West Side apartment building, and producing their own podcast about the cases, titled Only Murders in the Building.

IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack

Based on real events, this gripping series directed by Anubhav Sinha (“Article 15”) chronicles the longest hijack in the history of Indian aviation. The series stars Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Vijay Varma and Patralekhaa in the lead roles. The thriller is set to stream on Netflix on August 29.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2

Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, the Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and forge the legendary Rings of Power, threatening to bind all peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Season 2 plunges its most beloved characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find his or her place in a world on the brink of calamity. The season two will stream on Prime Video on August 29.

Buddy

Allur Sirish starrer is an adaptation of the Tamil film Teddy. The story follows Pallavi, an Air Traffic Control officer, who suffers a major accident. The doctor along with his crew sends Gayatri into a coma so that he can sell her body parts in Hong Kong. While all this happens, Pallavi's soul enters a teddy bear and reaches the home of a pilot Aditya Ram who shares a past with Pallavi. The rest of the story is as to how the teddy bear and Aditya head to Hong Kong to save the body of Pallavi. The movie release on August 2 and earned mixed reviews from the critics. Now, it's not even a month and the movie is set to debut on OTT on August 30.

Kana Kaanum Kaalangal Season 3

The series is a reboot of the 2006 television series of the same name and after premiering in 2022, the second season came out earlier this year in April. Now, the third season is set to premiere on August 30 on Disney Plus Hotstar. The story revolves around the struggles of a group of high school students and what they face during their secondary school life such as jealousy, rivalry, misunderstandings, arguments and personal grudges.

Murshid

Murshid Pathan, a former gangster in exile, is compelled to resurface when his friend-turned-foe, Farid, forces him to take up arms once again. Starring Kay Kay Menon, Tanuj Virwani and Vedika Bhandari, the series is slated to release on August 30 on ZEE5.

Breathless

A passionate medical team is devoted to saving lives in a bustling public hospital where tensions — and romance — keep their pulses racing. The series will start streaming on August 30 on Netflix.
