The Stranger Things season 5 Production to begin in 2024, see details

The creators of Stranger Things will begin the production of the fifth and final season in January. According to Variety, the makers have announced that filming is scheduled to start in early January, though the shooting date is yet to be decided. The production faced a considerable delay of over seven months due to strikes from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).

The Stranger Things season 5 star cast  

The star cast is the same as in the previous season.  The star cast includes Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gates Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and Priah Ferguson. The new entrant is 'Terminator' star Linda Hamilton, adding an element to the final season.

Besides, Terminator star Linda Hamilton is the new entrant cast for Season 5.  Prey and 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg will be the director for at least one episode. The regular directors the Duffers and Shawn Levy, are executive producing, as per Variety.

Levy, the executive producer, heightened the expectations of the fans by revealing that season 5 will be major, major cinematic storytelling" on par with blockbuster movies." as per Variety.

David Harbour is also set to return to the Stranger Things Season 5. Attending the BoxLunch Holiday Gala, an event honoring Feeding America, in Los Angeles earlier this week, the actor, 48, told People that shooting may very well commence from November 13 itself.

“I mean, I don't know if we'll be shooting next week, but yeah, as soon as possible. They called me, I think it was 10 minutes after the SAG-AFTRA thing on Twitter (now X),” he explained. “The first AD (assistant director) is like, ‘So, get the flight for you on Monday, right? We'll be acting in Atlanta. I'm thrilled with that. I'm ready to work. I mean, there are other people that maybe aren't, but I am thrilled.”

The Stranger Things is a Netflix series created by the Duffer Brothers. The first season was released on July 15, 2016.

Though the release date for the final season is uncertain, reports stated that it will debut before 2025.  However, fans can expect a lot of thrill from the upcoming season. The teaser of The Stranger Things: The First Shadow' is set in Hawkins, Indiana, in 1959. The teaser is an act of a play that explores the origins of key characters from the series. The teaser will be presented in the Phoenix Theater in London’s West End on December 14. The script is written by Stranger Things writer Jack Thorne and co-executive produced by Kate Trefry, reported Variety.
