Dune Prophecy: Tabu Looks Powerful As Sister Francesca In Her Hollywood Debut Series

Tabu is all set to make her international debut with the web series Dune: Prophecy. Recently, the makers released a second teaser to keep the movie buffs hooked. Not just Hollywood, but Indian fans were also elated to watch the second teaser as it offered the first look at Tabu.

Tabu’s much-awaited first look from Dune: Prophecy

In the series, Tabu plays the role of Sister Francesca. The teaser shows how Bene Gesserit train their sisters to exert power and have complete control over their minds. However, they still have a long way to go before it becomes the powerhouse. Emily Watson, who is playing the role of Valya Harkonnen, in one of the frames says "Sacrifices must be made". As the teaser continues, it offers a glimpse of Tabu in an all-black outfit, looking fierce as she stands with her arms folded. In the teaser, she doesn't mouth any dialogue, but her appearance is enough to send chills down the spine. However, Indian fans will have to wait for more such teasers to know exactly what her character is all about.  

In May, a Variety report described Tabu’s character as "strong, intelligent and alluring".

What is Dune: Prophecy all about?

It serves as a prequel to the film Dune (2021), which was based on the 1963–1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, and focuses on the origins of the Bene Gesserit, an exclusive and powerful sisterhood who undergo intense physical training and mental conditioning to obtain superhuman abilities, taking place approximately 10,000 years before the events of the film. The series "follows sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen as they combat forces that threaten the future of humanity, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit."

The upcoming series is slated to premiere on both HBO and the streaming service Max in November 2024.
