The premiere date of docu-drama series Koose Munisamy Veerappan has been rescheduled ahead of its intial release. Originally planned for December 8, the streaming platform announced the new release date, citing reasons for the last-minute delay that remain undisclosed. The series will now premiere on ZEE5 on December 14.

Koose Munisamy Veerappan to delve into the life of the bandit

Koose Munisamy Veerappan generated significant buzz in the OTT space, promising to unveil unseen tapes and delve into the life of the infamous forest bandit, Veerappan. The series piqued interest, with Tamil actor Suriya sharing the trailer on his X account, expressing eagerness to watch it. "This riveting docu-series makes me want to know more... congrats to the whole crew behind this project. Special mention to Nakheeran Team," wrote Suriya.

Veerappan's trailer showcases his legacy

Despite nearly two decades passing since his death in a police encounter, Veerappan remains a polarising figure in India. Regarded as one of the most notorious criminals in independent India's history, a significant section of the population continues to hold him in high regard.

The series Koose Munisamy Veerappan aims to uncover lesser-known facts about Veerappan's life. The series features politician-filmmaker Seeman raising thought-provoking queries about Veerappan's activities and the involvement of others in his dealings.

Journalist Nakkheeran Gopal, featuring in the series, challenges the one-sided portrayal of Veerappan in previous accounts, claiming they were solely based on police records. The trailer ends with a poignant tape of Veerappan appealing to viewers to judge for themselves his life's story and who stands on the wrong side - him or the government.

Koose Munisamy Veerappan boasts a lineup of prominent speakers including Ram, Pa Pa Mohan, Subbu aka Subramanyan, Alexander IPS, Rohini, Jeeva Thangavel, Mohan Kumar, and Dhamayanthi, among others.
