Streaming On OTT This Weekend: IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack, Murshid, Breathless And More Web Series

As Thursday is here, so is our list of web series that will be streaming over the weekend. While some are slated to stream today, August 29, others will release on Friday, for you to binge-watch. From Vijay Varma's IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack and The Lord of the Rings S2 to Murshid, the OTT platforms (Netflix, Prime Video, Lionsgate and Prime Video) promise titles in various genres.

IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack

Based on real events, this gripping series directed by Anubhav Sinha (“Article 15”) chronicles the longest hijack in the history of Indian aviation. The series stars Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Vijay Varma and Patralekhaa in the lead roles. The thriller is set to stream on Netflix on August 29.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2

Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, the Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and forge the legendary Rings of Power, threatening to bind all peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Season 2 plunges its most beloved characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find his or her place in a world on the brink of calamity. The season two will stream on Prime Video on August 29.

Kana Kaanum Kaalangal Season 3

The series is a reboot of the 2006 television series of the same name and after premiering in 2022, the second season came out earlier this year in April. Now, the third season is set to premiere on August 30 on Disney Plus Hotstar. The story revolves around the struggles of a group of high school students and what they face during their secondary school life such as jealousy, rivalry, misunderstandings, arguments and personal grudges.

Breathless

A passionate medical team is devoted to saving lives in a bustling public hospital where tensions — and romance — keep their pulses racing. The series will start streaming on August 30 on Netflix.

Murshid

Murshid Pathan, a former gangster in exile, is compelled to resurface when his friend-turned-foe, Farid, forces him to take up arms once again. Starring Kay Kay Menon, Tanuj Virwani and Vedika Bhandari, the series is slated to release on August 30 on ZEE5.
