The anticipation for Mirzapur 3 has reached new heights following the release of its trailer, and Vijay Varma’s recent social media post has added to the excitement. Known for his compelling performances, Varma shared insights into his character for the upcoming season.

Vijay Varma talks about his character in Mirzapur series

In his post, Vijay Varma reflected on the complexities of his role, recounting his experience from the previous season. He wrote, "In Season 2, I played twin brothers. As an actor, portraying two characters was challenging, but what helped me was envisioning them separately and making them interact. This season, the biggest challenge was merging both into one character. I felt like I had a split personality. All these conflicts are still within me. I’ve never felt so torn as an actor."

Varma’s portrayal of the twin brothers Bharat and Shatrughan was a highlight in Mirzapur 2. He described their distinct personalities: "Bharat is responsible, bearing the weight of the business on his shoulders. As the elder brother, he must be wise. Shatrughan, on the other hand, is a free spirit, searching for the love he didn’t receive from his family in the outside world. But in Mirzapur, everyone is always looking for an opportunity to benefit themselves."

Vijay on the conflicts his character faces in Mirzapur

He further elaborated on the turmoil and conflicts his character faces, hinting at a significant transformation. "Both the elder brother and Dadda advised against getting involved in the barfi business. But the desire for love and validation led to our downfall. We thought Dadda would be proud, but the younger brother’s mistakes were unforgivable. We didn’t want to, but circumstances forced us to take up arms. Whether my character this time is the younger or the elder brother, time will tell, but I trust it will resonate with the audience."

Produced by Excel Media and Entertainment and directed by Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer, the fan-favorite series features a stellar ensemble cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Anjumm Shharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chadha, Meghna Malik, and Manu Rishi Chadha.
