The sixth and final season of The Crown, which premiered on Netflix, November 17, has led to an immediate upsurge in interest over Princess Diana's romantic involvement after her divorce from King Charles III. For the unversed, Princess Diana was seeing Egyptian billionaire Dodi Fayed. However, the princess and the billionaire's involvement was preceded by a dramatic trajectory involving Kelly Fisher - the woman Fayed was seeing prior to Princess Diana. But who is Kelly Fisher?

Who is Kelly Fisher?

Kelly Fisher was an American model by profession at the time she started seeing Dodi Fayed. The two had met in Paris in 1996. Followed by a short period of courtship the two got engaged with Fayed gifting Fisher a hefty sapphire and diamond ring. The much-in-love duo were all set to get married in August of 1997. However, 1997 brought with it pictures of Princess Diana and Fayed, spotted kissing on a yacht.

Fisher of course did not receive the news well. On August 7, Fayed allegedly broke up with Fisher over call - obviously calling off the wedding. Fisher's response to the jolt was to file a lawsuit against Fayed. The lawsuit alleged that the two were set to get married on August 9 coupled with Fayed convincing her to move to Paris along with promising to pay her $500,000 of which he had not paid $440,000. An Esquire report citing the LA Times reads, "The suit contends that Fayed offered Fisher $500,000 to scale back her modelling career in America and move to Paris so she could spend more time with him. Fayed told her his family was embarrassed that his fiancee worked, the suit claims."

Where is Kelly Fisher now?

Kelly Fisher eventually gave up modelling. She is married to a pilot by the name of Mikhail Movshina whom she met in 2007.

She has changed her name to Kelly Movshina post her wedding and now works as a property developer in South Carolina.
