Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Russia to attend the Modi-Putin summit to focus on strengthening India-Russia cooperation. On his arrival in the country on Monday, he was given a warm welcome by Russian artists who performed on an iconic Bollywood track.
In the video, Russian artists can be seen dressed in colourful lehenga choli as they danced to Rangilo Maro Dholna, which originally featured Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan. They captured the essence of the original choreography and gave an enthralling performance. The video was shared by the official X handle of ANI with the caption, "Russian artists in Moscow, Russia dance on Hindi songs to welcome PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi is on a two-day official visit to Russia. He will hold the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit with President Putin."
Soon after the video went viral, Indians took to the comment section, lauding their performance. A user wrote, "Good to see a beautiful cultural exchange between India & Russia." Another wrote, "Beautiful dance and what a talent. Congratulations to all the artists. Beyond words." A user wrote, "This is crazy. Can’t tell a difference between Russia and India. Love you #Russia."
The peppy track was released in 2000 and immediately became a hit among the Indians. The music video was called Pyar Ke Geet and the track was sung by Farida Mir. The song was about a wife celebrating the safe return of her soldier husband from a war.
