Even though Selena Gomez has consistently denied rumours about plastic surgery, the speculation has continued. Recently, she responded to these online discussions by firmly requesting that people stop bothering her. Her reaction came after a video by content creator Marissa Barrionuevo, who compared photos of Gomez from various periods and asked viewers not to speculate about her appearance due to her medical history.

In the year 2014, Selena was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disorder, which is accompanied with symptoms like joint pain. She even underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 as a consequence of her lupus diagnosis. She has refrained from publicly disclosing the specific prescription medications she takes to manage the condition.

After that, she addressed fan concerns regarding her health via the TikTok platform, saying, “I shake because of my medication of lupus”. However, she continues to face criticism over her changing looks.

TikToker apologises to Selena

Selena Gomez commented on Marissa’s Tiktok video, expressing her frustration, “Honestly, I hate this. I was in stripes because of the flare-up. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.”

The TikToker later apologised to Selena, explaining her intentions. Selena responded positively, reassuring her that there were no bad intentions.

Besides handling trolls, Selena Gomez has continuously spoken out against harmful body image comments. She also confronted those who mocked her appearance at the Golden Globes, reinforcing her message of self-acceptance and body positivity.
